Why Therapy?
Perhaps you feel life is going pretty well but still sense that something is not quite right. Therapy offers no guarantees to magically fix problems, but through our work together you or your child may find inner strength or new perspectives that were unavailable to you before. Often therapy is brief, like a “tune-up”, offering you a chance to slow down and access your own resources. Other times, therapy is a long-term process. Some issues become ingrained over years and certainly won’t be alleviated quickly. If you struggle with symptoms of depression, anxiety, feel stuck in your life or if you have experienced a loss or trauma, please reach out and we can discuss whether I can be helpful to you.
How to Get Started
Just fill out the contact form on the Get Started page and I’ll contact you within a day or two. We’ll have a quick chat to make sure we’re a good fit for one another and I’ll answer any questions you might have. Then we will schedule your first appointment.
Appointments
The first appointment is 60- 75 minutes. I’ll be interested in hearing more about what’s bringing you to therapy. We’ll discuss some potential goals and areas of your life you’d like to change. I will share a little about my counseling style and the ways I think I can help you. We’ll schedule the next appointment, then you’ll pay for your session and be on your way.
Follow up appointments are generally 50 minutes unless other arrangements have been made. Weekly appointments are typically recommended at the start. As you make progress, we can discuss changing the frequency of your appointments.
Length of Treatment
Therapy is a process unique to each person. This is based on several factors including the severity of concerns and the kind of goals you have in mind. Together we can decide how many sessions will be the right fit for you.

I am a preferred provider with Premera BlueCross, Kaiser Permanente PPO, First Choice Health, and Group Health Options. I can also offer documentation for you to use out-of-network benefits if you have them. Please contact your insurance provider ahead of time to learn about your mental health benefits.
I am no longer In-Network with Regence Blue Shield which means I will charge my standard fee and Regence might reimburse a portion of it. I can look into specifics about your particular plan but typically, at best, Regence would reimburse about $50 per session and the balance would be out of pocket for you.
There are many benefits of not using your insurance company for mental health treatment. I’d be happy to talk with you about that during our initial consultation.
